Differentiating itself from other industry accolades, the Tipton does not honor a successful business career, but rather acknowledges the recipient’s pursuit of creative ideas, innovations, and concepts as expressed by a significant body of work that has clearly passed the test of time. Beyond being a recognized expert, the honoree must be a visionary leader who commands respect and whose selfless nature has contributed to the advancement of our industry through the consistent sharing of knowledge and mentoring of others.

The Best in American Living™ Awards Hall of Fame program honors individuals and firms who have been housing industry thought leaders and significantly influenced the residential design and construction field through their success in their professions. We would not be here, experiencing our lives in the way we do, if these individuals had not envisioned and executed the design improvements, we have enjoyed over the last 30 plus years.
California Building Industry Association, HALL OF FAME 2011 Recipient
The California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame was established to honor remarkable people who exemplify California's homebuilding innovative spirit and have made their mark in the industry. Since the first Hall of Fame in 1985, the question of who should be inducted in the Hall has been a great source of enjoyment and debate.
